On the evening of Tuesday, September 23, Regent University’s TPUSA chapter held a memorial event in honor of Charlie Kirk. The gathering gave students, faculty, and alumni an opportunity to remember Kirk’s life, hear from those who knew him personally, and reflect on the convictions that shaped his mission.

The event included a memorial table where attendees could light candles and write messages to Kirk’s family, along with a keynote address from David Engelhardt, Charlie Kirk’s pastoral advisor and friend. Refreshments were also provided, and the turnout demonstrated the broad impact Kirk had on the Regent community.

Rachel Helms, the president of Regent’s TPUSA chapter, explained that interest in the organization had grown significantly since Kirk’s assassination. She noted that many students had been moved not only by his political involvement, but by the sincerity of his Christian faith and his influence on others.

Engelhardt’s message focused on the core of Charlie Kirk’s mission: to love God, love family, and love country. He emphasized Kirk’s discipline, courage, and commitment to truth, describing him as someone who remained firm in his convictions even in the face of intense opposition and daily death threats.

Throughout the evening, Engelhardt reflected on the personal conversations he had shared with Kirk about faith, America, and leadership. He portrayed Kirk as a man who saw potential in others, valued eternal things over temporary pleasures, and encouraged those around him to pursue truth with confidence and conviction.

He also challenged attendees to “follow Charlie as he followed Christ,” echoing the Apostle Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 11:1. The call was not merely to admire Kirk’s courage, but to imitate the Christ-centered devotion that shaped his public life.

The evening served as both a memorial and a challenge. It gave the Regent community space to grieve, while also calling students to carry forward a legacy of courage, discipleship, and faithfulness.
